Nikon P5000 camera. Depth of Field Test  (Distance markers are in feet)

Used on a Nikon ED82 scope with 30xDS eyepiece

Test carried out in overcast conditions. Aperture priority setting on camera, camera focused manually on the "mind the step" sign, which is in the middle of the distance markers.

These 3 pictures show the effect of camera aperture, on depth of field, note that the camera zoom is kept constant, just the Aperture is changed.


Here you can see the 3 feet back marker is still in reasonable focus.





And now  you can see the 3 feet back marker is not in focus at all, the 1 foot marker is still in good focus.

Now the 1 foot back marker is going out of focus.





These 3 pictures show the effect of camera zoom, on the depth of field, note the aperture is kept constant at f 7.6 just the zoom is changed.
