A freezing cold day, but as this bird was just a mile down the road from where we live, we just had to go see. It was foraging in a new plantation of small trees with green collars around their trunks, so the bird kept disappearing from view.

The Hoopoe is still at the lakes, today it was on a sunny bank finding quite a lot of leather jackets to eat. So hopefully it will stay for the rest of the winter.
